Dr. Robertson had a passion for pets early on. From the age of 5, Dr. Robertson knew that becoming a veterinarian and opening her own pet hosital and veterinary clinic was her career dream, because it enabled her to take care of animals.
In pursuit of her dream, she graduated with honors from Colorado State University in 2006 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to graduating, she pursued her passion working in various vet clinics as a technician. Her combined veterinary experience is more than 20 years.
Dr. Robertson's experience is international as she is a member of the 401(c) organization Helping Paws Across Borders. This organization travels to third world areas to educate people on animal care and to vaccinate and perform necessary surgeries free of charge to whoever brings their pets to the clinics.
Dr. Robertson's approach is to raise the level of care that you expect. This means not only providing the highest level of medical attention for your pets, but to engage you with the passion that she has for them. While you are at 4 Paws Pet Hospital, your animals are treated as her own. Speaking of her own, Dr. Robertson has 3 dogs (Furgus, Baxter and Mia) and 1 cat (O'Malley).
Dr. Robertson hopes that you will allow her to share her knowledge, experience and her light hearted approach with you, creating a great veterinary experience.
Dr. Christina Kulage was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. She is a proud Aggie (Whooop!) and attended Texas A&M University for both her Bachelors in Biomedical Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, Christina and her husband, Zak, decided to move back closer to her roots, and thus ended up in Amarillo, TX for four years before deciding to make the move to Albuquerque. She is excited for this new adventure and couldn't think of a better place to settle down and to work with people and their animals.
Christina has four furry critters: three dogs and one cat that completely rule the roost. She and her husband are thrilled about the Albuquerque laid back atmosphere, friendly faces, and of course easy access to skiing! She has strong interests in internal medicine and dentistry and is excited to be part of such a caring animal care team. Her favorite thing about 4 Paws Pet Hospital is the ability to provide top notch veterinary medicine in combination with immense compassion and meaningful personal interactions.
VAN der WALT
Dr. Marilize Van der Walt graduated from the Washington State University regional program in veterinary medicine with a research scholar designation. She has always loved animals and subsequently worked as a zoo keeper and undergraduate biology researcher while obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology from Utah State University. She studied reproductive and stress hormones in lizards and polar bears, and some of her fondest memories include camping for weeks in the deserts of the southwest while catching lizards; all in the name of science.
Having grown up in the Rockies, Dr. Van der Walt loves the outdoors and enjoys climbing, snowboarding, hiking, backpacking, and kayaking, so she is excited to see what New Mexico has to offer! She had two darling, trouble-maker cats, Alfred and Abbie, who always keep her on her toes at home. She is excited to be a part of the 4 Paws team, and deliver exceptional, quality medicine for your pets while leaving you satisfied with a great experience.
